On the weekend, thousands took to the streets across the world for the third annual Women’s March.
From New York to Sydney, women, men and children protested for women’s rights. Sydney protesters took a stance on violence against women following the horrific murder of Aiia Maasarwe in Melbourne last week. “Men NEED to be held accountable, men NEED to suffer consequences when they take advantage of women, when they hurt us, abuse us, underpay us, belittle us, take away our power, our right to be treated equally and fairly,” Australian actress Phoebe Tonkin wrote in a tribute to Aiia. “This isn’t a societal issue, this is a humanitarian crisis.”
