US Woman Charged With Murdering Boyfriend Has Been Linked To A Similar Cold Case

She's been named as a person of interest in a 10-year-old cold case

An American woman charged with murdering and dismembering her former boyfriend is now a person of interest in a cold case dating back 10 years ago.

Nelci Tetley, 67, was arrested on Thursday and charged with the first-degree murder of 55-year-old Jeffrey Albertsman after his remains were found inside his home in July 2017.

According to a report obtained by The Daytona Beach News-Journal, Albertsman died from a bullet wound to the head and chest. His arms and legs were missing but found two months later in a fernery nearby. Tetley reportedly dated Albertsman for nine years and is accused of routinely abusing him for years before his death.

Now, police are treating Tetley as a person of interest in the death of Michael Scot Louis, who was found dead in 2007. Scot Louis’ remains were discovered in garbage bags dumped along the Tomoka River, just 16km away from Albertsman’s body parts, TIME reports.

How exactly have the cases been linked? A police report notes that the bodies were cut in a similar fashion, although officials have not provided any new information about the case.

“The Louis case is an active investigation and we are not releasing any information at this time,” Ormond Beach police spokesman Captain Chris Roos said on Friday.

The investigation continues.
