When Victoria Beckham tips an emerging designer as the next big thing, we sit up and take notice.
As part of the judging panel for the International Woolmark Prize, she’s done just that. The 2017 winners have been just been announced, with Gabriela Hearst taking out top spot in the womenswear division. The Uruguay-born, US-based designer, who already has a cult following for her feminine, understated designs, will take home $100,000.
"I was very much in support of Gabriela," Beckham said in a statement. "For me, she is the worthy winner. I love what she does and she's clearly very talented. I like her eye, she has great product and she's a strong woman. I have a huge amount of respect for her.”
