At any given time, anxiety is affecting around one million Australians – and 45 per cent of us will experience it or another mental health condition in our lifetime, according to Beyond Blue.
So we’re not surprised that the Kickstarter crowd-funding initiative for Gravity, a weighted blanket especially designed for easing stress and anxiety, is going gangbusters.
The Gravity blanket is specially engineered to be 10 per cent of your body weight, mimicking the effect of being hugged or held (known to relax your central nervous system and help you get to sleep).
At the time of writing, a staggering $3-million has been raised, smashing the initial $21,500 target.
We can only assume that means the Gravity blanket is coming soon to a bedroom near you.
