Just as President Barack Obama and Donald Trump shared their first sit-down in the White House following this week’s election, so too did First Lady Michelle Obama and Melania Trump.
While it had the potential to be extremely awkward (do you bring up that whole speech incident or do you just pretend it never happened?), the ladies reportedly had an “excellent conversation” according to the POTUS.
“Michelle has had a chance to meet the incoming first lady and they had an excellent conversation as well,” he told reporters.
“We want to make sure they feel welcome as they prepare to make this transition,” he added.

The ladies discussed raising children and being good parents, White House spokesman John Earnest told reporters.
After a cup of tea, Michelle also gave Melania a tour of the residence before making their way to the oval office where they met their husbands.
Melania, 46, will make history when she moves into the iconic residence with her husband as the first immigrant First Lady since 1825. She was born in Slovenia before moving to th US in 1996 and becoming a citizen 10 years later.
