What Kate Middleton Gave The Queen For Christmas

We hope Meghan Markle is reading

If you find buying presents for your in-laws a punish, imagine how the Duchess of Cambridge feels. What does one buy the Queen?

For her first royal family Christmas, Kate Middleton came up with the perfect solution: a handmade gift. What did she make? Her grandmother’s recipe for “marrow chutney.”

“I was worried what to give the Queen as her Christmas present,” the Duchess admitted to the BBC, Harper’s Bazaar UK reports. “I thought back to what I would give my own grandparents. And I thought, ‘I’ll make her something.’ Which could have gone horribly wrong.”

“I was slightly worried about it, but I noticed the next day that it was on the table,” she adds. “I think such a simple gesture went such a long way for me and I’ve noticed since she’s done that on lots of occasions and I think it just shows her thoughtfulness, really, and her care in looking after everybody.”

We’re not sure marrow chutney is Meghan Markle’s style, but maybe the one-time wellness website founder could make Her Royal Highness a tasty batch of kombucha?
