What To Wear To A Job Interview

Dress for the job you want
Job interview

Your palms are sweaty, your heart is racing, you honestly can’t remember your own name let alone your last job… welcome to job interviews. While making that big career leap is one of the most rewarding things you can do, the initial interview isn’t always smooth sailing. And while you might not have your answers down, you can bring your A game through your outfit.

Tailoring the outfit depending on the job you’re going for is key, but there are a few basics that will always get you through. Black blazers, classic pants and trench coats are always winners, as are block coloured jumpers and dressy boots. Steer clear of silks or anything see through, as sweat patches might unexpectedly make an unwanted appearance — and everyone will know about it. Add pops of colour with accessories, or, depending on the job, go for a burst of sunshine with a colourful dress that’ll definitely get their attention. If you’re being interviewed for a creative job, make sure you show off your personality through playful and personal touches, think jewellery.

Above all, dress for comfort and professionalism. Don’t wear something you hate and doesn’t suit you, and make sure you’re feeling confident and empowered. Job interview dressing isn’t exactly easy, but it is a good way of setting your goals and intentions via your wardrobe — and there’s nothing we like better than letting your clothes give you the power you need to win at life.
