Today Is White Shirt Day! Here’s How You Can Show Your Support

More than $1-million has been raised already!

It’s a statistic everyone should be aware of: every 10 hours, a woman in Australia dies from ovarian cancer. The frightening figure is due in part to the fact that, unlike some other cancers, there is no early detection test for this insidious disease.

That’s why today – White Shirt Day – is so significant. A joint partnership between the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) and Witchery, White Shirt Day seeks to celebrate the annual White Shirt Campaign, while continuing to raise funds and awareness for research into an early detection test.

Each year, Witchery releases a limited edition capsule collection of white shirts, of which 100 per cent of gross proceeds are donated to OCRF. If you’ve already bought your white shirt this year, today’s the day to wear it. If not, it’s not too late: simply head to whiteshirtcampaign.com.au to donate directly or buy one of 10 designs, ranging from a crisp white cotton shirt to a romantic lace top with bell sleeves.

Amazingly, this year’s White Shirt campaign has already raised just over $1-million, a figure that’s expected to keep on climbing today. That adds to the impressive $10-million the campaign has raised in the 10 years since its launch.

White Shirt Day coincides with World Ovarian Cancer Day. There’s never been a better time to contribute to the work OCRF are doing to create an early detection test, find a cure, and ultimately, save women’s lives.
