Whitney Port Opens Up About Suffering A Miscarriage 2 Weeks Ago

"My identity has been shaken in regards to who as a mum and human being"

The Hills: New Beginnings star Whitney Port has opened up about suffering a miscarriage just two weeks ago. The 34-year-old who has a two-year-old son, Sonny, with her husband Tim Rosenman, said the couple was expecting a second child, however, around six weeks into the pregnancy, Port lost the baby.

“This is really hard for me to write,” Port captioned a preview clip of an upcoming episode of her podcast With Whit. “Two weeks ago, I had a miscarriage. The amount of various emotions I felt in the past couple weeks have been extreme … from shock to sadness to relief, which then led to guilt for feeling that relief.”

“My identity has been shaken in regards to who as a mum and human being,” she continued. “I’m currently in the process of learning to accept that my feelings are valid no matter what they are. Whether or not people feel the same way as me or not. They are my personal emotions that are the result from my own journey.”

On her YouTube channel, Port shared a more detailed explanation of the couple’s traumatic past few weeks, explaining the miscarriage in more depth and saying she stopped taking her birth control and got pregnant. Throughout the entire pregnancy, Port says she felt “really nauseous and really exhausted” up until week six, when she started feeling fine.

“And then the next day, I woke up and I saw blood on my underpants,” Port says, revealing that after an ultrasound the couple were told there was no heartbeat.

“I welcome anyone to share their stories or feelings,” Port continued. “I want my platform to be an open place where we can share difficult conversations.”
