Lady Gaga ended her relationship with ex-fiancé Christian Carino shortly before the Oscars. At the time, a source told People it wasn’t a dramatic split, but Us Weekly claims to have discovered new details on why the couple parted ways this week. It turns out he was very much the jealous type.
“Christian didn’t treat Gaga very well toward the end of their relationship, and she leaned on Jeremy [Renner] in the weeks after it ended,” a source told the publication, referencing Gaga’s now rumoured romance with Avengers star Renner.

Carino was reportedly acting jealous and controlling at the end of his and Gaga’s time together, the source adds. He was “trying to find her all the time and texted her a lot. He was controlling, and her friends didn’t like him,” the source told the publication.
Immediately after their breakup, a source told Us Weekly that Gaga was career-focused and hadn’t “even had time to address what has been happening between her and Christian, emotionally. She has been telling those around her, ‘Let’s stay focused.’”
But Gaga is taking the split in her stride, focusing on healing with friends. For her birthday, Gaga has taken 11 of her closest friends to Cabo, San Lucas. “She has been in a great mood and seems to be very happy,” E! was told by a source yesterday of the trip so far. “Gaga has a private dinner planned for her birthday and is really happy to be spending her 33rd birthday with all of the people that have been by her side for many years.”
