Harrowing audio of the 911 calls made by Madison and Taylor Sheats – the two Texas sisters shot by their mother on Friday – have been released.

Madison, 17, can be heard begging ‘Please don’t shoot the gun’. Meanwhile, Jason Cheats, 45, pleads with his wife, Christy, “I promise you whatever you want I will do.”

The sisters made two calls to 911. However, they were both killed, along with Christy, who was shot by police when she refused to drop her weapon.

The release of the audio by the Fort Bend County Sheriff comes as a friend of Madison, 17, revealed to The Daily Mail that Christy and Madison had been fighting

‘I called her around 9 or 10 that morning to ask her a favor and I could tell something was wrong with her. I could just tell in her voice she was upset about something. I asked her what was going on and she wouldn’t tell me.

‘She just said that she was arguing with her mom. I found that really weird because she would always tell me what was wrong with her but that day she just didn’t tell me.’

The friend, who had known Madison since both were freshmen at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas, said that she spent most weekends at the Sheats’s house.

She said: ‘I was over there almost every weekend and we did stuff together. I never noticed anything with the family. I mean they argued but there was nothing really big.

‘Her mom was a good person. I just don’t know what happened that day.’

The family’s neighbour Madison Davey said that Christy carried out the attack to spite her husband.

Davey told ABC13, ”He [Jason] told Christy, ‘Just shoot yourself. Make it easy on all of us, just shoot yourself,’ and she said, ‘No, that’s not what this is about, this is about punishing you.”

The neighbour spoke very highly of Jason, saying that he was ‘the best dad ever’ and ‘would do anything to protect [his daughters].’

However, Davey thought Christy was a toxic influence on the family. “I always knew something would happen, but I never thought she would do this,” she said.
