Now, over 110 years later, footwear maven Wittner are celebrating their century in business with a 24 carat-themed collection that is cementing their golden future.

Entitled Wittner 1912.4, as an homage to the year the brand was conceived, the brand is reimagining four quintessential styles of stilettos, pumps and platforms in gilded, gold leather.
With Wittner’s roots fortified in Melbourne, a city steeped in a rich history and relationship with gold, the ornate and gold-laden shoes signal another century as one of Australia’s premiere footwear brands.
“Given this is our 110th year anniversary we thought we’d bring something special to our loyal customers that celebrates both our history as a brand and our intrinsic connection to Melbourne,” explains Wittner CEO Catherine Williamson in a press release.
“With a nod to our city’s golden past, these styles have been carefully curated to inspire future looks with key styles from our past combined with two new styles to look ahead,” she adds.
“It is really a love letter to our home city.”
Of course, with Melbourne arguably Australia’s fashion capital, these gilded silhouettes are a must have for any member of the city’s style scene.
Accompanying the collection launch is a sophisticated and cosmopolitan campaign honouring both Melbourne’s and Wittner’s famous commodity: gold.
Complete in the Victorian capital’s uniform—sleek, all black ensembles, of course—four models showcase the new metallic and patent leather styles.
As Spring begins to show its first sign of life, these golden designs are inviting us to indulge in the best hospitality and fashion inner-city living has on offer.
Because who needs a gold-leaf cocktail when you have gold-leafed shoes?
