From haircare to skincare to makeup, more and more brands are making a change towards cruelty-free and animal-free ingredients. To celebrate World Vegan Day, here are some of the best vegan beauty brands on the market right now.
1. Jonny+June
Sydney hair salon in Paddington Jonny+June have their own range of vegan haircare produces. The range includes shampoo, conditioner, treatments and balms that are designed to restore health to coloured hair. Plus, all products are made with organic ingredients. Think macadamia nuts for protein, argon oil to keep your locks shiny and aloe vera for hydration.
Our pick: JONNY+JUNE Original Treatment, $39.95. This anti-ageing treatment uses babobab tien and lilly pilly to provide nourishment and rejuvenate damaged hair.
2. Skyn Iceland
This natural skincare brand is a cruelty-free solution for stressed skin, inspired by the calm, clean environment of Iceland. Many ingredients are sourced from the country itself, including glacier water, molecular oxygen and Arctic super fruits. Animal rights organisation PETA honoured the brands founder, Sarah Kugelman with their Trail-Blazer award for her commitment to only using vegan ingredients and not testing on animals.

This vegan haircare company test all their products on people instead of animals. The brand is also the only major company with a professional hair colour line that does not use any animal products in their ingredients. A small number of products include beeswax and honey but the company says they are working on an alternative.

4. RMS Beauty
Founded by legendary makeup artist Rose Marie Swift, RMS Beauty is a vegan beauty brand that offers high-quality, minimalist makeup. Products are generally packed in versatile pots and can be used for the face, cheeks, lips and eyes. All ingredients are vegan and sourced in their purest form to ensure that their healing benefits and nutrients remain in tact.

5. Ecotools
This might be a lesser known fact, but often makeup brushes are made from animal products.
