The First Look At Gable Tostee’s Controversial 60 Minutes Interview Is Here

The first look at Gable Tostee’s upcoming 60 Minutes interview aired last night an has been met with backlash online.

The short preview of the segment, which will air next Sunday, see’s the 30-year-old, who was acquitted of New Zealand woman Warriena Wright’s murder and manslaughter after she fell from his 14th storey balcony, describe what happened that night.

Tostee appears uncomfortable in the footage appearing to sweat as he describes Ms Wright as “a guest in my home,” adding “it wasn’t supposed to be this.”

“I restrained her to stop her from attacking me,” he said.

“I don’t know what else to do. I wanted it to stop.”

Tostee was then questioned over the fact that Ms Wright could be heard screaming “no” 33 times during the audio recording which was the key piece of evidence during the trial, he replied, “Yeah, she was certainly trying to make a lot of noise.”

Tostee was reportedly paid a six figure sum for the interview, which has copped a barrage of criticism online. 

“Can you understand why many people would think you’re a cold, heartless, cruel bastard?” journalist Liam Bartlett asks Tostee.

“When you put it that way, umm…” says Tostee before the preview is cut off.
