Meghan Markle Makes Her Royal Ascot Debut

Clearly the Queen approves shirt dresses

Another day, another example of Meghan Markle embracing her new royal status: this time, attending day one of Royal Ascot in the kind of headwear that both the Queen and Camilla Parker Bowles would approve of.

The Duchess of Sussex again turned to Givenchy (the French fashion house behind her wedding dress) for the occasion, wearing a white embroidered shirt dress cinched in at the waist with black belt, matching monochromatic Phillip Treacy hat and black leather pumps.

Luckily for Markle, she didn’t appear to have to wear the purple and white name-tags usually donned by royals at Ascot; we wonder if Kate Middleton will be so lucky this year?
