Zendaya in custom Valentino
Nicky Briger, Editor: “Zendaya in sunny-yellow Valentino looks cool, chic and fun all in one package. Whenever she walks the red carpet, people talk and take note. Her bandeau bodice is youthful and totally on-trend, and those dazzling Bulgari jewels (all 183.3 carets worth!) beautifully compliment her strapless style. Stunning, as always.”
Naomi Smith, Fashion Director: “I love everything Zendaya wears, she always looks incredible. This gorgeous gown felt so optimistic, I loved her long flowing wavy hair, and jewels at her neck piled on. There was a slight rebellious feel to her look, very Valentino, but also very new gen.”
Carey Mulligan in Valentino Haute Couture
Nicky: “I hope Carey Mulligan wins tonight because she resembles a walking, talking Academy Award! The British actress absolutely shines in this metallic Valentino Haute Couture gold gown, and the on-trend bandeau crop top perfectly suits her frame and plays nicely with proportion. The high-waisted voluminous skirt is a red carpet winner; with the return of the IRL awards night, this is the kind of drama we’ve been hankering to see!”
Naomi: “I love the way Carey styled her gown, which was simple but major at the same time. Applause to the stylist and hair and makeup team who kept her hair and jewellery to a minimum for a perfect balance.”
Reese Witherspoon in Dior Haute Couture
Nicky: “Reese rarely puts a foot wrong on the red carpet, and this pleated, belted Dior Haute Couture gown is beautifully elegant and in keeping with her love of timeless style. The Bulgari jewels are simple and chic but impactful, which is how I’d sum up her overall look.”
Amanda Seyfried in Armani Prive
Naomi: “I always love seeing Armani Prive being worn at the Oscars, there is something about an actress in Armani Prive that says ‘winner’. Armani’s gowns are always perfect and tend to surprise with something standout. Whether it’s the fabric or tulle and sequins, somehow he strikes a great balance between red carpet glam and something more regal. This gown was quite romantic for Mr Armani, which was nice surprise.”
