Jennifer Lawrence And Amy Schumer Stand In Solidarity At A Rally For Abortion Rights

"I don't have a uterus and she is pregnant but we out here."

Together, we are stronger—Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence certainly know it.

The Hollywood friends attended a rally for abortion justice together in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, with the 40-year-old comedian and mother sharing a candid picture of the pair from the day’s event.

“I don’t have a uterus and she is pregnant but we out here @womensmarch @plannedparenthood #rallyforabortionjustice,” she wrote alongside the picture.

She was, of course referencing Lawrence’s pregnancy, which was recently confirmed by her reps.

In Schumer’s image, the 31-year-old actor’s baby bump is possible to see while she holds up a sign saying: “Women can’t be free if they don’t control their bodies.”

Meanwhile the comedian and mum herself also holds a sign with a slogan from the Center of Reproductive Rights. It says: “Abortion is essential”.

The rally in D.C. was one of more than 650 which took place across the United States over the weekend as a response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s consideration of yet another restriction on abortion rights.

It’s understood more than 120,000 people were among those protesting.

In September, Texas enacted an devastatingly restrictive abortion law, ruling that abortions would be illegal after six weeks—a time when a lot of women haven’t even realised they’re pregnant. It marks the most restrictive abortion law in the entire country.

Even more troubling is that the bill doesn’t allow any exceptions for pregnancies that have occurred from rape or incest.
