"My favourite place is somewhere I've never been. I like to be dropped into the middle of something new," Jolie continued. "I enjoy being out of my element. I want the children to grow up in the world - not just learning about it but living it and having friends around the world."
Her family have finally "broken ground" on a property in Africa and are already proud owners of a home in Cambodia - somewhere which holds a special place in Jolie's heart.
"We got a call the other day informing us that chipmunks have moved into the house," she revealed.
"They asked if we should remove them and Vivienne was very clear that we needed to cover the wires and let them stay. However, the local snakes may have their own opinion on that. Clearly, the animals are there more than I am and they feel it is their home."
The actress first visited the nation to film 2001 hit Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and later adopted her eldest son, Madodox, from Cambodia.
Jolie and Pitt famously called it quits in September 2016 having two years of marriage.
"I am very saddened by this but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids,” Pitt said in a statement. "I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
