It seems as though Angelina Jolie’s children are following in her footsteps when it comes to her passion for international humanitarianism. Earlier this week, the actress took her four of her six children that she shares with ex-husband, Brad Pitt, with her on her trip to Ethiopia. Zahara, 14, who was born in the African country, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne have spent New Year’s Eve in the region, but for Zahara and Shiloh, the trip was more than just a family holiday.

Her two eldest daughters joined their mother for a meeting with Ethiopia’s first female president, Sahle-Work Zewde. According to People, their talk covered everything from education, to sanitary pad solutions to enable girls to continue their schooling (girls often stay home from class while menstruating due to lack of supplies), and Ethiopian culture and history. The group also discussed Jolie’s ongoing efforts to treat drug-resistant tuberculosis.

Jolie has been funding those efforts for over a decade, through the Zahara Program – named after her daughter. The Jolie Pitt Foundation also partnered with the Global Health Committee and the Ethiopian Federal Ministry of Health in 2009 to create an initiative to treat drug-resistant TB.

Jolie has shared in the past that none of her children are interested in becoming actors like their parents; instead, wanting to pursue areas of business and humanitarian affairs. We can’t wait to see where their ambition takes them!
