There’s no denying that when it comes to hair makeovers, Anne Hathaway is a master at transforming tresses.
And while fans are used to seeing Hathaway’s chocolate-brown locks falling past her shoulders, the actress and mother-of-two has made the decision to lob said locks off. But, the reason isn’t as personal as one may think.
On October 27, the Princess Diaries star was photographed while filming her upcoming ’80s coming-of-age film, Armageddon Time, in New York City. The film itself, which also stars Anthony Hopkins and Succession‘s Jeremy Strong, will include Hathaway, and yes, a short and curly bob.
Of course, this is far from the first time that Hathaway has dropped more than a few inches from her strands. Back in 2012, debuted her now-iconic pixie cut while she was starring as Fantine in the film adaptation of Les Misérables, a performance which won her an Oscar.
More notably, Hathaway sported her memorable pixie cut when accepting the award, while wearing that baby pink Prada gown.
And it turns out, feeling comfortable with her new look was even more difficult, but now, it seems as if Hathaway has happily opted to return to her cropped cut.
“I’ve now done back-flips out of windows, I’ve jumped off buildings,” she said. “And cutting my hair reduced me to, like, mental-patient-level crying. I was inconsolable.”
Either way, Hathaway’s ability to effortlessly pull off such a chic and summer-ready ‘do has us ready to ask our hair stylist for a chop.
