Fan of The Handsmaid’s Tale? Your next Margaret Atwood obsession is set to be the six-hour miniseries Alias Grace, based on the Canadian author’s compelling novel.
And, drumroll… it’s coming to Netflix this November.
As The Hollywood Reporter notes, the series tells the story of young Irish immigrant and domestic servant Grace Marks (Sarah Gadon), who is convicted of a brutal double homicide.

As you might have guessed, the teaser trailer released looks incredible.
“I think of all the things that have been written about me,” Marks says in a voice-over. “That I am an inhuman female demon. That I am an innocent victim of a blackguard, forced against my will, and in danger of my own life. That I am cunning and devious. How can I be all these different things at once?”
She adds: “I’d rather be a murderess than a murderer — if those are the only choices.”

Another reason the series is set to be a winner: it’s written and produced by Sarah Polley, the Canadian talent behind Stories We Tell, Away From Her and Take This Waltz. And it’s directed by American Psycho’s Mary Harron.
