We’re Getting An Australian ‘Selling Sunset’-Style Series And Here’s Everything To Know

Yes, there will still be mansions to ogle

We’ve all delighted in the absurdity of Netflix’s Selling Sunset, but now it looks like Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs may just be the new Beverly Hills, as Amazon Prime announces a new real estate reality show is in the works.

Following the professional (and no doubt, personal) lives of three realtor high-flyer realtor personalities in the Sydney real estate scene, the series will bring together the marriage of jaw-dropping multi-million-dollar properties and the drama of competitive real estate that we loved to watch on Selling Sunset

The three main cast members include Gavin Rubenstein, D’Leanne Lewis, and Simon Cohen.

Produced by Eureka Productions, the team behind reality franchises Farmer Wants A Wife and The Amazing Race Australia, the show is set to run very differently from some other popular Australian real estate showssuch as Love It Or List Itthat tend to focus solely on the homes.

Chris Culvenor, co-chief executive of Eureka Productions, said in a statement: “Sydney’s real estate market is unlike any other in the world, it’s a brilliant mix of big personalities, spectacular properties and high-stakes deals.”

With production already underway, get to know the agents.

D’Leanne Lewis, also known as the Queen of ‘Queen’s Park’, is a principal at Laing+Simmons’ prestigious Double Bay office.

With a record of sales well above $100 million, we’re sure to see some stunning listings from her.

Simon Cohen is the founder of Australia’s largest buyers’ agent firm, Cohen Handler—meaning he’s not exactly ‘selling’ so much as he is negotiating on behalf of his clients who are looking to buy.

According to the business’ site, his company has purchased over $4 billion worth of properties to date.

Gavin Rubenstein is the show-boater of the three, with one profile even dubbing him ‘Australia’s most divisive figure in real estate’.

He runs The Rubenstein Group, a firm that sits under the umbrella of Ray White—the agency he used to be a top-selling agent for.

With custom-made sunglasses and an Instagram laden with inspirational quotes, we’re tipping him to be one of the bolder characters on the show.

Stay tuned for the 2021 release date.
