Earlier this month, celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubroff turned to Chanel to create Margot Robbie’s soft, romantic beauty look for the Paris premiere of Wuthering Heights.

Rather than opting for a bold statement lip, Dubroff tapped and layered the house’s Rouge Allure Matte formula onto Robbie’s lips, diffusing the colour into a soft bordeaux flush that felt equal parts ethereal and modern.

Now, that same lipstick line is taking centre stage with the launch of Chanel’s Rouge Allure Velvet Limited Edition collection, a reimagining of the house’s iconic formula housed in newly designed packaging and alluring shades.

The limited-edition lipstick arrives in Chanel’s signature click case, this time adorned with golden trim and engraved with a quilted motif inspired by the house’s Coco Crush jewellery collection. The tactile ritual of opening the lipstick, that distinctive click, remains part of its allure, a small moment of ceremony before colour meets lip.

“This story is about moments in life when everything just clicks,” Robbie says, speaking behind the scenes of the campaign as ambassador for the limited-edition collection.

Inside, the formula delivers the velvety matte finish Rouge Allure Velvet is known for, balancing intense pigment with a soft, luminous texture that remains comfortable on the lips. The collection introduces a wardrobe of shades spanning pinks, reds and warm browns, designed to suit everything from understated daytime beauty to evening glamour.

Among the standout hues are Rencontre, a powdery pink that echoes Robbie’s premiere look, Rouge Charnel, a fiery statement red, and Crush, a modern brownish rosewood. Each lipstick can be paired with Chanel’s Le Crayon Lèvres lip pencils for added definition or layered and diffused for a softer, blurred finish.
