At just 18-years-old, the songstress, who penned the song with older brother Finneas, will become the youngest artist in history to write and record a theme for the hit franchise.

"It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way," Eilish said on the announcement. "To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honour."

"James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I'm still in shock."

"No Time To Die" JAMES BOND. AND I AM SINGING THE THEME SONG. 🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭 WHAAT

The award-winning songstress teased the news via Instagram Stories by posting a series of iconic photographs of Bond girls from years gone by before finally confirming the news on her grid.

Alongside the iconic 007 logo, she wrote: "No Time To Die JAMES BOND. AND I AM SINGING THE THEME SONG. WHAAT."

The last two Bond theme songs, Adele's 'Skyfall' and Sam Smith's 'Writing On The Wall', both won an Oscar meaning she could well follow in their footsteps.

The #NoTimeToDie title song will be performed by @billieeilish. Billie has written the song with her brother @finneas and is the youngest artist in history to write and record a James Bond theme song.

The news is sure to come as a surprise to some with rumour rife that Beyoncé would take on the prestigious job after she posted a photograph of herself supping a martini at the 2020 Golden Globes.

No Time To Die will grace a cinema screen near you in April 2020.
