Once upon a front row many seasons ago, Céline Dion stole the fashion set’s eyes away from the runway with her headline-worthy closet.

From dabbing her eyes at Valentino to fan girling over Giambattista Valli with Anna Wintour perched beside her, the songstress has risen to global style maverick status.

But unlike the model pack’s welcome break from all things Fashion Week, Dion never lets her sartorial guard down. Case in point: she just delivered a lesson in courtside dressing.

Earlier this week, the 51-year-old made a pitstop at a recent Toronto Raptors game while touring her home nation.

In true Dion fashion, she embraced all things athleisure in the city’s team hues as she posed alongside the dinosaur mascot in head-to-toe red.

Not one to be upstaged – especially by a giant prehistoric mascot – she donned a dramatic Balenciaga opera coat complete with a matching hat and the brand’s cult shopper.

The finishing touch? A comically gigantic NBA championship ring of course.

Though she’s not the only A-lister to have brought her fashion game to a local match in recent months.

Rihanna brought home the sartorial trophy at a kickabout between Juventus and Atlético Madrid in Italy on November 26 clutching none other than a vintage soccer ball-shaped handbag.

Delivering a masterclass in the art of sidelines dressing, the singer made sure to do her research – plucking the bag in question from the Louis Vuitton archives. A limited edition collector’s item first created by the luxury fashion house in collaboration with FIFA, the accessory marked the 1998 World Cup in France in the most runway-worthy way possible.

How does one accessorise said bag, we hear you cry?

The 31-year-old also donned a personalised Juventus shirt emblazoned with the nickname “RiRi” across the back. A roomy hoodie and co-ordinating aviator jacket from her Fenty clothing line won Rihanna a style homerun.

Yet further evidence that courtside is the new front row?
