BREAKING: Chris Dawson Has Been Arrested For The Murder Of His Wife Lyn Dawson
This morning, 70-year-old Chris Dawson was arrested in Queensland and is expected to be charged for the murder of his wife Lyn Dawson.
The disappearance of mother-of-two Lyn Dawson has been the subject of podcast The Teacher's Pet, which prompted police to dig at the Dawson's former property at Bayview on Sydney's Northern Beaches in September.
Despite a body not being found, this morning police arrested Dawson outside his Queensland home.
“A 70-year-old man has been arrested this morning shortly before 8 o’clock in relation to the murder of Lyn Dawson,” Detective Chief Inspector Chris Olen told The Australian this morning.
“He’s been taken to Southport where he will be charged. NSW police will seek an extradition.”
Despite all of the compelling evidence pointing towards foul play when Lyn disappeared on January 8, 1982, including that her husband was in a relationship with his 16-year-old student Joanne Curtis who he moved into his family home days later, the case wasn't investigated by police until years later. Two coroners found that Lyn was murdered by a “known person”, but no charges were laid.
