Leave it to Drew Barrymore to keep things refreshingly real – while she’s long been a fan of the make-up free selfie, her latest Instagram post takes things to an impressively honest level. Unlike the celebrity selfies we’re used to seeing, which are invariably Face-tuned and filtered into glowy, soft-focus oblivion, Barrymore’s photo reveals grey hairs, unwaxed brows, under-eye bags and not a smidgeon of make-up. In other words, she looks the way most women do when they wake up.
“OH MY GOD How did I let it get this bad. Base and brows needed,” the 42-year-old actress captioned the post – and every woman too time-poor for regular beauty appointments could immediately relate.
She followed the post with a sweet snap of her four-year-old daughter Olive getting foils with her. Don’t panic – according to Barrymore’s caption, her hairdresser simply put olive oil in Olive’s foils “for solidarity” while mum had her hair dyed.
