Camilla and Marc has made its Paris Fashion Week debut, presenting its spring/summer 2027 collection in a private apartment overlooking the Tuileries on October 2. For the Australian label, it marked a significant international moment, with an intimate setting that invited guests to experience the clothes up close.
At 216 Rue de Rivoli, 12 models were positioned throughout the rooms, bringing to life a collection inspired by women gathering around a table. Creative director Camilla Freeman-Topper explored the personalities, exchanges and unexpected connections that emerge when different characters come together.
That premise gave the wardrobe room for both restraint and exuberance. Black tailoring included a longline blazer and a skirt with a sculptural, flared panel at the hips. A cropped black top, worn with sweeping wide-leg trousers, played with proportion, while a glossy collarless jacket introduced a sleek surface alongside the more tactile pieces.
Red and lilac provided the collection’s vivid accents. A lilac column dress paired a defined waist with softly exaggerated shoulders, its shaggy texture adding depth to an otherwise streamlined silhouette. A red textured piece was styled around the hips over white trousers, creating an unexpected interplay of colour, volume and layering.
Elsewhere, a fine-strapped white top and airy skirt offered a lighter approach to summer dressing. Long black fringing added another expressive detail. Across the looks, the interest came from the combinations: abbreviated tops above generous trousers, crisp tailoring beside textured surfaces, and sculptural shapes balanced by ease.
The interiors echoed those contrasts. Alexander May Studio, led by May with Ole Lund, worked within the apartment’s existing architecture, introducing textile panels in Kvadrat for Raf Simons fabrics, custom cream Ege carpeting, Louise Roe furniture and art and objects sourced through Galerie Yves Gastou.
Rich cream and glossy black lacquer formed the backdrop, allowing the clothes’ colour and texture to stand out. Beauty was similarly understated, with Rebecca Wordingham directing fresh complexions and subtle lips, and Diane Gorgievski at O&M balancing polished roots with relaxed hair.
Guests included Nicole Warne, Pernille Teisbaek, Diana Bartlett, Alex Carl, Charlotte Groeneveld and Constance Jablonski, with attendees wearing pieces from the label’s resort 2026 collection, launching October 25. Isabella Massenet curated the soundtrack, while Queensland-grown grapes brought an Australian touch to the refreshments.
For Freeman-Topper and CEO Marc Freeman, the presentation carried the label’s Australian perspective into a Parisian setting. The result was a debut with a clear point of view – and plenty of personality.
