This past birthday marked a milestone for Olympic swimmer Emma Mckeon, and not just because of the number.

On the day of her thirtieth birthday, Dior announced that the Australian sporting darling will serve as one of its athlete ambassadors for the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.

On Instagram, McKeon wrote that she was “honoured,” adding she has “long been an admirer of Christian Dior and I couldn’t be more excited to have their support.”

The partnership is a reflection of Dior’s fascination with the values of sport, such as discipline, perseverance, and respect, as well as the ability to push the envelope of possibility. As such, McKeon joins a dream team of international athlete ambassadors. The 15-strong, all-female team also includes Jamaica’s Elaine Thompson-Herah, who is the fastest woman alive; Hawaiian surfer Carissa Moore; and French boxer Estelle Mossely, as well as Italian Paralympic fencers Beatrice “Bebe” Vio Grandis, Andreea Mogos and Loredana Trigilia.

McKeon, who already has 11 Olympic medals under her belt, is set to represent both Australia and the Maison in Paris when the games kick off on July 26. Making the ambassadorship all the more special, McKeon has confirmed that this is to be her last Olympic Games.

She might just have to pick up a piece from the Maison to celebrate.
