In a break with tradition, the palace will reportedly no longer release Kate Middleton’s outfit details, at the Princess’ request. According to sources, the Princess of Wales has asked that Kensington Palace no longer share her wardrobe, as she attempts to re-route focus to her charitable work.

A “palace source” told The Sunday Times, “There is an absolute feeling that it [the work] is not about what the princess is wearing. She [Kate] wants the focus to be on the really important issues, the people and the causes she is spotlighting. There will always be an appreciation of what the princess is wearing from some of the public and she gets that. But do we need to be officially always saying what she is wearing? No. The style is there but it’s about the substance.”

Since Kate married into the royal family in 2011, Kensington Palace has routinely released the Princess’ outfit details for official royal duties. As Kate returns to public engagements following her cancer diagnosis and treatment, the Palace will allegedly no longer release the details of her clothing. The Duchess announced she was in remission in January.

However, if you’re still looking to discover where Kate Middleton sourced her latest blazer or pinstripe trousers, media and designers will continue to run these details without the palace’s aid.

Since first arriving in the spotlight, Kate has cemented her status as a style icon. From her wedding dress to her winter coats, everything the Duchess wears sells out within hours.

Over the years, she’s cultivated a strong sense of personal style, often re-wearing her favourite pieces on multiple occasions. This winter past, the Princess of Wales continues to demonstrate a love of long tailored coats, fitted dresses and flared trousers with blazers. With such classics in her wardrobe, it’s no wonder she’s one of fashion’s most influential style icons.
