What Is The Met Gala 2025 Dress Code?
Each year, the Met Gala announces an overarching theme for the event which then informs a more specific dress code for every A-list attendee. In 2025, the dress code is ‘Tailored For You’ leans into the theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” as a nod to the museum exhibition’s focus on menswear and suiting.
What Is The Met Gala Theme For This Year?
The theme for the 2025 Met Gala has been announced as “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and is described as an expression of Black dandyism.
Based on The Costume Institute’s Spring 2025 Exhibition, both the theme and the collection is inspired by the work of Monica L.Miller’s 2009 book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity and will “examine the historical and cultural emergence of the Black Dandy, tracing the figure from 18th-century depictions to modern-day representations.”
