Energetic Sportswear And Tech Romanticism Meet For Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2021 Collection

The collection was lensed by artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière

Loungewear shorts mixed with thigh-high leather boots, puffed slides styled alongside ruffled skirts and maxi dresses worn over colourful tracksuits—it’s a heady combination for Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2021 women’s collection, perfectly aligning edgy sportswear with the French fashion house’s signature luxury, a perfect ode to the optimistic and upbeat.

Nicolas Ghesquière, the Artistic Director of Women’s Collections, who was also behind the lens of the collection, focused on three main pillars, all symbolising the nature of the LV woman—tech romanticism, with soft materials and embroideries mixed for an urban attitude; energetic sportswear, embodied by clashing colours and reinvented chromatic duos; and rediscovering essentials, giving an update of House Icons and reconquering its great classics.

Namely, the brand’s famous Nouvelle Vague bag has been reinvented in new colourways, featuring cobalt blues matched with striking reds and bubblegum pinks alongside deep purples.

Stacy Martin, the face of the Pre-Fall 2021 collection, is the “heroine in a new take on the Nouvelle Vague”, as Ghesquière says, adding, “Stacy has innate elegance and an inspiring personality. I have a lot of respect for her career path, her bold choices and the roles she takes on. I very much enjoyed photographing Stacy. So cool and laid-back, I love the way she wears my collections.”
