It’s almost that time of year again—the Met Gala., and we’re wondering who has made the exclusive Met Gala guest list?

The exclusive event doesn’t only require a US$50,000 (approx. AU$75,000) donation but the tick of approval from Vogue editor and host Anna Wintour

So, who’s got the golden ticket this year? Below, we share everything we know about the 2024 Met Gala’s VIP guest list.

Rapper and singer, Bad Bunny, has been confirmed as one of the Met Gala’s four co-chairs.

The star is no stranger to the event, having attended both the 2022 and 2023 editions of the gala.

Singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez or JLo, will be joining Bad Bunny as a co-chair this year.

She’s also not a stranger to the gala, having attended more than a dozen Met Galas in her time.

Actress and singer, Zendaya, has also been named co-chair of this year’s event.

Like the others, she has multiple Met Galas under her belt already.

Chris Hemsworth

Chris Hemsworth will attend the Met Gala as a co-chair.

In a surprising announcement, Australian actor Chris Hemsworth will be joining the co-chair crew at this year’s Met Gala.

Having never attended a Met Gala before, we can’t imagine a better role to begin his Met Gala era.

Joining the group will also be two co-chairs, who this year, include Loewe’s creative director Jonathan Anderson and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew.

Who Won’t Be Attending This Year’s Met Gala?

A few celebrities have already announced that they won’t be attending this year’s event, including Jared Leto.

Despite being a regular—and creative—attendee (who can forget last year’s cat costume) Leto won’t be attending this year’s gala as he will be on tour.

“[We’re] back on the road,” Leto told E! News of his band’s new tour.

“It’s been five years. I will be there in spirit with my head and my cat. Wishing everybody a beautiful night.”

Also not attending is Project Runway’s Tim Gunn, who was banned from the event after saying some not very nice things about host, Anna Wintour.

“It is very true,” he told a reporter from the Metro.

“It is a crazy story, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s a very matter-of-fact story. I was asked what is the most unforgettable thing I’ve ever seen in fashion and I said, ‘It’s easy. It was watching Anna Wintour being carried down five flights of stairs by two bodyguards—two big hulking men—from a fashion show. All hell broke loose. It was insane. We’ve had an open war ever since.”

Other celebrities simply won’t be going because they don’t like the gala—this includes Tina Fey, Demi Lovato and Zayn Malik, who have all reported bad experiences at the event.

“I had a terrible experience,” she said,

“This one celebrity was a complete bitch and was miserable to be around. It was very cliquey. I remember being so uncomfortable that I wanted to drink. I changed my clothes, but I still had my diamonds on — millions of dollars of diamonds on in an AA meeting.

And I related more to the homeless people in that meeting who struggled with the same struggles that I deal with than the people at the Met Gala — fake and sucking the fashion industry’s dick.”

Who Will Be Attending The Met Gala 2024?

While the guest list hasn’t been confirmed, we’re placing our bets on Taylor Swift attending this year.

Likewise, we’re hoping to see Blake Lively and Sarah Jessica Parker back in the ball gowns after not attending last year’s.

It’s also likely that at least one—if not more— of the Kardashians will be attending.

As for the others, we’ll have to wait and see.
