The future starts now. Such was the ethos behind Ralph & Russo’s latest ready-to-wear line, La Futura. In essence, we can remain stuck in this excruciating state of limbo, or we can start embracing today and tomorrow. Preferably in delicious holiday fashion.
A digital backdrop of rolling waves and summery beats set the scene for a collection inspired by a South American getaway. Think hot colours and seductive, sometimes skin-baring shapes: tangerine ruffles, silky pink suiting, translucent maxi skirts and wide-brimmed raffia hats. Then there were vibrant block-hued cocktail dresses—classic resort-style designs—plus a dreamy purple two-piece to close out the show.
The event also saw the British house (founded by Australians Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo) launch its swimwear collaboration with La Perla: sleek asymmetrical one-pieces and linen cover-ups we’ll be sure to throw on as soon as we can travel to far-flung locales. Or maybe this weekend. Because the future starts now.
