There’s nothing better than a sparkly mini dress, especially on an important occasion, and Taylor Swift knows it.
The starlet was pictured celebrating her birthday in New York this week, in a dazzling black mini emblazoned with celestial motifs, in the form of moons, clouds and stars.
The dress is from a brand that has been making waves lately, Clio Peppiatt. Peppiatt is known for her approach to artisanal eveningwear, using hand-embroidery and beading to add a touch of magic to the designs she creates.
The dress Swift wore is called ‘Night Lucina’, which uses hand-beaded night motifs with a crystal square neckline in a classic fit-and-flare shape. The ‘Lucina’ is actually their best-selling dress, and Swift’ version is simply in ‘night mode’.
Ushering a new, sparkly, approach to dressing up, it’s not only Swift who has fallen in love with the brand.
In fact, it was also championed on hit TV series The White Lotus, where the label was worn by Lucia (Simona Tabasco) and Mia (Beatrice Grannòmade). In the series, Lucia is a sex worker, while Mia is an aspiring singer who is pulled into Lucia’s antics. Both of them are fashion girlies who have a desire to move into another echelon of their lives.
In much of the series they can be wearing Clio Peppiatt’s designs, with Lucia donning the Lucina at Dusk Dress, and Beatrice rocking the Vic Dress.
While Swift paired her outfit with an Aquazzura bag and pair of sky-high platform heels, Lucia and Mia dressed their looks down, with casual oversized bags and choker necklaces.
The brand has well and truly become a go-to for the celebrity set, having also been worn by Lily Allen, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus Kacey Musgraves and Laura Whitmore.
The London-based designer started her label in 2015, having previously worked with Alexander McQueen as a print designer.
