FBI Investigating Suspicious Video With Possible Link To Missing Teen

There is not yet confirmation on if it is real or a hoax.

The FBI and Wisconsin police are currently looking into a suspicious YouTube video that could be linked to the case of missing teenager Kayla Berg.

ABC News in the US reports Kayla vanished at the age of 15 years old on August 11, 2009 in Antigo, and the YouTube video in question was posted on October 11, 2009. The video had 940,000 views before it was taken down earlier today.

The video, titled ‘Hi Walter! I have a new gf today!’ features a man talking to the camera and telling the story of meeting a girl at the mall, going shopping with her and taking her back to his place. At the end of the video, he reveals a young woman tied up on the floor of a dark bathroom screaming, and he slams the door behind him as he goes into the bathroom.

Kayla Berg’s mother Hope Sprenger told WAOW-TV in Wausau that she was ‘disturbed’ by the video, saying that she thinks the girl looks a lot like Kayla.

It “sounded like her, looked like her. It gave me chills,” Sprenger said. “Disturbing. It made me sick to my stomach.”

Chief of police Eric Roller says that they are investigating any lead that looks even slightly related.

“Every tip that we do get on Kayla we take seriously,” Roller said. “One day we’re going to have that one tip that’s going to make that difference, and we are gonna find something.”

The police still don’t know whether the video is real or a hoax, and are currently investigating it. The FBI are currently offering a reward of $20,000 for any information which will lead to Berg or an arrest.
