The idea is to give depth and dimension to brow hairs, by way of darkening the tips for light brows, or lightening them for dark.
Given that my brows are Lily Collins-level dark, I was intrigued. Although I like them as they are, sometimes I can’t help but feel that it would be nice to have less obvious arches – and brow highlighting offered to get me there, sans any scary experiments with bleach.
I tried Shade 02 light/medium – a luminous coppery brown. The formula is a brush-on, water-resistant gel that you apply with a tiny brush – about half the size of a mascara wand – so you have plenty of control.
Applied sparingly, the look is surprisingly convincing: my brows are softened, appear less heavy on my face and lighten my entire look – a win in summer. It lasts all day and into the night, no smudging or melting onto eyelids.
If you overdo it the effect becomes more obvious, but once you’ve mastered the right application it works a charm.
I’m not about to add it to my daily beauty routine, but on days where I crave a more casual, beachy look – or want to tone down unkempt brows when I’m overdue for a professional tidy up – this will be my new go-to.
