When you part ways with a significant other, there’s often tension involved. But for some, their post-relationship rendezvous are nothing more than amicable—and this seems to be the case for exes Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk.
Taking to Instagram on August 29, Irina shared a series of photos from her recent holiday to the Bahamas, where she could be seen lounging on the sand and swimming in the crystal blue sea, alongside pigs.
But other than her animal adventures, fans were quick to notice a photo that was artfully slid into the middle of the carousel, showing herself and Bradley smiling together. In the image, Bradley has his arm around Irina, who is wearing a teal and pink floral bikini and black mesh skirt, while Bradley donned a pair of black swim shorts.
As for the caption, not much else was alluded to, with Irina just leaving the photos with a lone, red heart emoji.
In the past, the two were in a relationship for around four years, before they decided to part ways in 2019. In the time that they were together, the pair welcomed a daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper.
And while the pair haven’t been a couple for years, they still remain close, likely for the benefit of their daughter. Since their break up, Irina and Bradley have been spotted publicly multiple times, from appearing together at the BAFTAs after part and walking around New York City arm-in-arm.
In a 2021 interview with ELLE, the 36-year-old model spoke openly about how it feels to raise her daughter, Lea, alongside Bradley.
“I never understood the term co-parenting,” she explained. “When I’m with my daughter, I’m 100 percent a mother, and when she’s with her dad, he’s 100 percent her dad. Co-parenting is parenting.”
And in a 2020 interview with British Vogue, Irina opened up about her breakup with Bradley, explaining that their relationship wasn’t meant to be but that doesn’t stop her admiring him as a person.
“I think in all good relationships you bring your best and your worst—it’s just the nature of a human being,” she said. “Two great people don’t have to make a good couple.”
Romantic or not, Irina and Bradley’s relationship is nothing but admirable, and there’s absolutely nothing anyone can fault about that.
