Sads new for James McAvoy and estranged wife Anne-Marie Duff as they recently announced in a statement that they will be getting a divorce after almost 10 years of marriage. They are currently living amicably in the same house with their son Brendan, who is six years old.
They released the following message in a statement through their reps:
“It is with tremendous sadness that we have come to the decision to divorce. We enter this next phase with continued friendship, love and respect for one another and the shared focus of caring for our son. We ask that you respect our and, most importantly, our child’s privacy during this time.”
James McAvoy, 37, and Anne-Marie Duff, 45, met in 2003 on the set of Shameless. They got married in October 2006, and had their son Brendan in 2010.
The news comes amidst James McAvoy promoting his new film, X-Men Apocalypse.
