The look in question was shared on social media by Lopez's hairstylist Chris Appleton—who also tends to the tresses of Kim Kardashian West, Dua Lipa and Katy Perry.
"@jlo got bangs today ✨," he wrote in the caption.
In the snap, Lopez could be seen showcasing waist-length honey caramel hair in soft, loose waves with her new fringe parted slightly in the centre before lengthening gradually to sweep across her cheekbones.
Versatile and easy to style, curtain fringes are a particularly ideal style for those with medium to long-length hair, according to John Pulitano, Creative Director at Headcase Hair.
“[It can’t be] too short as you need a more rectangular silhouette to make it work. Too short gives more of a square silhouette, which doesn’t look so good,” he told marie claire.
It's also a great low-maintenance option for those who don't like to spend too much time on their locks, making it particularly ideal for summer when the heat and humidity don't exactly mix well with frequent styling.
Trims can also be pushed to around the five or six week mark, and per Pulitano, "for some hair types a quick [daily] blow dry [is needed] to bring the shape out."
