Jennifer Lopez arguably has one of the greatest collections of engagement rings Hollywood has ever seen, with each one more stunning than the last.
While they have since called off their engagement, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announced they were engaged via Instagram in 2019, with the singer confirming the news with her former New York Yankee beau with a stunning picture of the ring. Lopez captioned the picture of her giant square-cut engagement ring, as well as the stunning sunset backdrop, with nothing but a series of red emoji hearts.
In 2022, Lopez found herself re-engaged to Ben Affleck, after the pair called off their first engagement in January 2004. After making things official in July with a surprise Las Vegas wedding, longtime fans are hoping that this time is the real deal, as the pair seem happier and more loved up than ever.
Still, Lopez has undoubtedly solidified herself as the queen of the engagement ring, so we’re taking a look back at some of her biggest and best throughout the years. Suffice, to say, we’re having a hard time picking our favourite.
The Ben Affleck Engagement Ring 2.0:
In what feels like major early 2000s nostalgia, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez reunited in 2021, to the delight of many. Perhaps time and space were exactly what the pair needed, because they appear to be happier and stronger than ever, with Ben popping the question (for the second, and hopefully last time).
While we’re yet to get an up-close-and-personal look at the sparkler, which reportedly cost $5 million People magazine have already speculated that Ben chose the colour green as it holds a special meaning for JLo.
“I always say the colour green is my lucky colour,” Lopez wrote in one of her newsletters. Then, in reference to her iconic green Versace dress from the 2000 Grammy Awards, she added, “maybe you can remember a certain green dress”.
In July, Lopez offered a glimpse of her wedding ring following their surprise Las Vegas wedding. Surprisingly, the simple platinum band was a little more low key that her hefty engagement ring, though it was no less meaningful.
Jenny Luker, president of Platinum Guild International USA explained that the ring was a “beautiful symbol of her love and commitment to Ben because platinum is precious, rare and lasts a lifetime.”
The Alex Rodriguez Engagement Ring:
JLo and Alex actually first met in 2005, before later reconnecting (and hitting it off romantically) in 2017. The pair got engaged two years later while on holiday in Puerto Rico, with the square-cut diamond has an estimated worth of $1-5 million. The pair called it quits in 2021, after their two year-engagement, admitting that they are “better as friends.”
The Marc Anthony Engagement Ring:
From 2004 until 2014, Lopez was married to fellow musician Marc Anthony, who proposed with an 8.5 blue diamond Harry Winston engagement ring worth an estimated $4 million. The couple shares two children, Maximilian and Emme.
The Ben Affleck Engagement Ring:
In 2002, Ben Affleck proposed to Jennifer Lopez with a now-iconic pink, 6.1 carat, Harry Winston ring worth an estimated $3.5 million AUD. The couple put their wedding plans on hiatus in 2003 and never ended up walking down the aisle, and rumour has it, the couple has rekindled their romance in 2021.
The Cris Judd Engagement Ring:
Lopez was married to backup dancer Cris Judd in 2001 after Judd reportedly proposed with an emerald-cut rock valued in the six figures. The marriage ended less than a year later.
The Ojani Noa Engagement Ring:
Lopez’s first marriage was in 1997 to Onjani Noa. The couple were married until 1998 and the engagement ring he bought J. Lo is thought to have cost six figures at the time.
