News of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s surprise wedding spread like wildfire through the pop culture universe this weekend, so it was no wonder that by Monday, a full, elaborate run-down of the day’s events had been divulged.

From JLo’s Zuhair Murad lace-adorned wedding dress to her other classic sleeveless bridal gown (recycled from “an old movie”), plus, their actual late-night Las Vegas nuptials, the details free-flowed.

But there was one smaller detail that captured our attention more than any other—the great wedding ring reveal.

Sharing a photo of herself from the morning after the big day to Instagram, Lopez, who now goes by Jennifer Affleck, was seen wearing a simple silver wedding band.

“Sadie! #iykyk Go to OnTheJLo for all the deets,” she captioned the image.

Surprisingly, the platinum wedding ring is understated as ever, reportedly worth $1,000—a far cry from Lopez’ bright green engagement ring from Affleck which cost more than $5 million.

But the prince difference is no reflection of the meaning behind each—Jenny Luker, president of Platinum Guild International USA explained that the ring was a “beautiful symbol of her love and commitment to Ben because platinum is precious, rare and lasts a lifetime.”

In April, Lopez revealed her green diamond engagement ring, which she explained represented the colour that saw her through some of her biggest milestones (that green Versace dress, anyone?).

But it seems her wedding band was a reflection of the quiet love these two are enjoying together. The pair’s low-key wedding was case in point.

It wasn’t long ago that media were reporting their plans for an extravagant wedding where money would be no object, but in reality, the Afflecks opted for a near-spontaneous affair at Las Vegas’ Little White Chapel.

“We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” JLo shared to her newsletter a day later.

“So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives.

“They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle. But in the end, it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible, and one another) at very, very long last.”

She finished the message: “Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive-through in Las Vegas at twelve-thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive-through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with,” Lopez concluded. “Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things-and worth waiting for.”
