18-year-old model Kaia Gerber knows the power of social media all too well, sending the internet into a tailspin after kind of announcing that she was pregnant on Instagram yesterday.
The famous daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber shared a photo of herself on her Instagram stories, with a slightly protruding belly – holding a copy of The One Minute Mother by Spencer Johnson and a tub of dairy-free ice cream. The snap, simply captioned “read into this.”
According to the blurb on Amazon, the sold-out parenting book “begins where most mothers are and takes them to where they want to be” with “three simple and easy-to-understand techniques.”
Gerber has been a constant target of superfluous or “fake” news since she first came into the spotlight as an up and coming model. The articles then reached a new height when she began dating Saturday Night Live comedian and Ariana Grande’s ex-fiancé, Pete Davidson.
The couple called their romance quits earlier this month after only a few months of dating, but despite their quick fling, the tabloid rumours of pregnancy, eloping and family feuds spread like wildfire.
So, based on this information, what can, or should we make of the model’s recent snap? Although she is yet to confirm the cryptic message, we’re fairly certain that she star is poking fun at the celebrity rumour mill – encouraging media to “read into” her nonsensical post.
