Kate Middleton And Prince William Match In Blue For In-Person Hospital Visit

There was a special meaning behind the couple's coordinated outfits

For the last few months, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s royal engagements have been confined to video calls and one-on-one visits. But, as lockdowns in the U.K begin to ease, Prince William and Kate Middleton attended the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn to commemorate the 72nd birthday of Britain’s National Health Service (NHS).

The couple also took the opportunity to “thank health and social care staff who are continuing to provide crucial support in the national response to COVID-19,” per a press release from Kensington Palace.

The duchess wore a Beulah London dress with a pair of Patrick Mavros gold earrings. The duke matched in a light blue suit and tie. The couple’s matching outfits were no coincidence, sporting blue – the organisation’s key colours.

“The Queen Elizabeth Hospital has been caring for patients since 1980 and currently serves a population of around 331,000 people from across Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire,” the palace said.

Will and Kate have supported NHS’s COVID-19 efforts from early on. In March, they visited the institution’s 111 centre — where staffers field calls about urgent medical problems across the U.K. — and shortly after, the entire Cambridge family participated the Clap for Carers campaign.
