The 41-year-old has relaxed her fitness regime since undergoing serious training in the run-up to thriller Doorman which sees her take on the role of an ex-marine.
Now, Holmes mixes up her routine with outdoor activities and classes she really enjoys.
"I like spinning, boxing, and yoga, and sometimes I'll take a dance class," she revealed. "I have my own spin bike, so I can do it at home when I have to get up really early; otherwise I go to FlywheelSports. I got into boxing a couple of years ago, and now I take classes at Rumble."
Holmes hopes that by slowing down her fitness regimen, she can set a good example for her 13-year-old daughter Suri.
"My dad ran the Boston Marathon when he was 45. I mean, that really set the bar for me. Like, 'Oh, I want to do that. He can do that. That's so cool'," she told Elle US.
"I think it's nice when you have someone who's setting that example. I mean, I like to set nice examples and work out but not be too obsessed or anything like that for my own daughter."
