Sarah Jessica Parker shares many similarities to her onscreen alter-ego Carrie Bradshaw, but she has made one major departure from the Sex And The City lead’s ethos: having children.
Parker and her fellow famous husband of 25 years, Matthew Broderick, share three children together: a son, James Wilkie and twin daughters, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell.
But despite being unafraid to step in front of the cameras herself (in a plethora of extravagant outfits, no less), SJP has kept her children well away from the public eye.
Well, she did until now—on September 27, the And Just Like That star attended the world premiere of Hocus Pocus 2 in NYC with three very special dates in tow: her husband and twin daughters, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell.
The rare appearance suggests the children are ready to follow in their mum and dad’s footsteps. Below, everything to know about Parker and Broderick’s three children.
How old are Sarah Jessica Parker’s kids?
Parker and Broderick’s eldest son, James Wilkie is now 19, while their twins Tabitha and Marion Loretta Elwell are now 13.
What is James Wilkie doing now?
James is currently studying at Brown University, and going by his Instagram page (albeit a rarely updated one), he has plenty of close friends around him.
Parker has been vocal about wanting James to grow up feeling motivated to make his own success.
Speaking to PEOPLE in 2008 (when James was six), Parker explained: “I think that if I had been raised a child of privilege, I wouldn’t be the working person I am today.”
“I have a great appreciation for work. I think it’s incumbent on my husband and me to really stress and to show James Wilkie by example what it means to owe your community something and that he is not entitled to the benefits of our hard work.”
“He only wears hand-me-downs because I’ve got all these older nephews. I am not kidding. I don’t think I’ve ever bought him any clothes. Maybe a new winter coat,” she added.
“I do buy him shoes, because everybody’s feet are different.”
James has also stepped out on the red carpet with his mother a handful of times. In 2010, he attended the New York premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 with his mother. He also went to the NYC premiere of And Just Like That in 2021.
Where are Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell now?
Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell are now in the eighth grade, however they both attend different schools.
In 2018, Parker explained to PEOPLE that while they’re “devoted to each other”, they have “different interests”.
“They’ll also say, ‘I need time away from her.’ Tabitha can play by herself for hours. Loretta always needs to be checking in. They go to different schools. That’s Tabitha’s idea,” Parker said.
In 2021, she shared a tribute to her growing children as they headed off for a new school semester.
“They need us more. And far less. So many know. Gutted at the time passed. Passing. Exhilarated by the possibilities that await them,” she shared on Instagram.
The twins have made minimal red carpet appearances with their famous parents so far, though their outing at the Hocus Pocus 2 premiere certainly suggested that they’re getting more comfortable with the limelight. We have a feeling there’s more to come.
