Lady Gaga Has Finally Broken Her Silence On Her Split From Christian Carino

Poor Gaga

Lady Gaga has had a massive 2019 so far. The entertainer won big during award season for her role and songwriting in A Star Is Born alongside Bradley Cooper and has gone on to tour the world. But one thing that turned Gaga into global conversation wasn’t her Oscar performance or her tattoo typo, it was the sad news she’d split from fiancé Christian Carino.

Fans began to speculate that the couple had called it quits after Gaga appeared at the Grammy Awards sans engagement ring. Gaga also did not thank Carino in her acceptance speech after her song ‘Shallow’ won the best pop duo or group performance prize. Carino also didn’t attend the Grammys, even though Gaga had brought him as her date to other events this awards season, including the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globes.

The break up was then confirmed by Lady Gaga’s reps back in March, who told People: “It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end. There’s no long dramatic story.”

Speculation also mounted that Carino had grown increasingly jealous of Gaga’s closeness with Jeremy Renner, Gaga remained tight-lipped about the subject, only breaking her silence on the split this week.

The breakup was mentioned briefly before Gaga performed Someone To Watch Over Me, according to Us Weekly. The 33-year-old announced, “Last time I sang this song, I had a ring on my finger, so it’ll be different this time”.

“[She] couldn’t risk jeopardizing her career in that way, over a man, and that’s not something she would stand for,” an insider told the publication.

Gaga and Carino were first spotted together in January 2017, he represents the likes of Miley Cyrus, Harry Styles and even Gaga herself. Carino was previously married to Brooke Baldwin from 1997 until 2015 with whom he has two daughters, Isabella and Lola.
