"We are all so very grateful to the healthcare professionals across the country and the world – this global pandemic is a catastrophe; I'm praying for them and also those who are sick," Lady Gaga said during the virtual press conference, via live stream from her home.
"I would like to send my prayers to people who are losing their jobs and having a hard time feeding themselves and their children."
During the press conference, Gaga also revealed that over the last seven days working with corporate leaders, tech companies and philanthropist, they had already raised a total of $35 million USD towards COVID-19 relief.
In addition to the celebrity cameos and performances, the special will also share the real experiences of frontline doctors, nurses and families from around the world.
