Jennifer Lawrence has given birth to her first child with husband Cooke Maroney, her reps have confirmed.
The joyous news was first revealed in a report from TMZ. The news outlet claimed it obtained public records confirming the baby’s birth.
The 31-year-old is notoriously private when it comes to her personal life behind the cameras, so it’s no surprise that she’s keeping any extra details under wraps for now—she and Maroney, who is a successful art dealer, will no doubt be revelling in their new roles as parents—the biggest gig they’ve ever had to date for the famous couple.
Lawrence’s pregnancy was confirmed back in September, and since then we’ve only caught a couple of glimpses of the Hunger Games star with her baby bump on show.
Several days later, she stepped out for an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert wearing a gorgeous polka-dot Oscar de la Renta dress.
Lawrence and Maroney married in 2019 in a private ceremony in Newport, attended by A-list pals including Adele and Emma Stone.
They were first linked back in 2018, and got engaged at the beginning of 2019. They’ve been spotted out and about together periodically, though pictures of the pair remain scarce—just how they like it.
In 2019, Jen told media that it was pretty much love at first sight between her and Maroney.
“I just met Cooke, and I wanted to marry him. We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully. He’s my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever,” she said at the time.
“Fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favourite person on the planet, you’re like: You can’t leave.”
A huge congratulations to the new parents!
