The Aussie Icons the World Can’t get Enough Of

From Troye Sivan’s creative partnership with Penfolds unveiled in Paris to Margot Robbie’s cult picks – Australian talent is setting the global agenda.

Troye Sivan is a singular cultural figure. He’s fashion. He’s music. He’s film. Now, he’s wine — or rather, the creative vision behind it. As Penfolds newly appointed Creative Partner, Troye has lent his artistic eye to Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz through a limited-edition design.

Troye unveiled the creative partnership during Paris Fashion week via an intimate dinner with close friends and creators. Held at Quartier Général in the 11th Arrondissement, Troye’s creative influence extended to curating the furniture and event styling, along with Luca Pronzato, founder and creative culinary director of We Are Ona.

“This partnership with Penfolds is a dream creative dialogue for me. Penfolds and I share a passion for culture and creating moments that matter. Together, we aspire to produce catalysts for connection,” says Troye of this creative collaboration. Bin 389 Designed by Troye Sivan comprises two unique releases. Both showcase wine from the 2023 vintage: a limited edition 750ml gift box ($120) and a 1.5L magnum art piece (POA).

The 750ml bottle is hand-wrapped in tissue paper printed with one of 20 images selected from Troye’s personal camera roll. “I picked real moments of my life… tiny snapshots that usually remain hidden in your camera roll. They’re reminders of inspiration, connection, and the people or places that spark something special. Wrapping the bottle in those memories felt like a way of sharing a piece of myself,” explains Troye.

The magnum edition is handcrafted by South Korean artist Rahee Yoon and is exceptionally rare – limited to just 20 bottles and available by expressions of interest only.

Australia’s Global Moment

But Australia’s creative currency extends well beyond wine. Celebrities, both home-grown and international are lending their star-power to fashion houses and beauty products.

Margot Robbie continues to capture our hearts both on and off screen and despite her recent ‘wind-flushed’ aesthetic in Wuthering Heights, her golden glow is her off-duty signature. According to her make-up artist, Patti Dubroff, Margot’s “glowy bronze skin” is all thanks to Three Warriors Hydrabronze Tan Drops.

It’s not the only homegrown brand getting the Margot treatment. She’s frequently spotted in Sir The Label — most notably on Saturday Night Live — the Sydney-based label known for its effortless tailoring that somehow manages to look both considered and relaxed.

Fellow Sydney-based label Christopher Esber is also no stranger to the international spotlight – or to the red carpet. The label has attracted some of fashion’s biggest names for red carpet moments — and Kylie Minogue has been a long-time devotee.

The perfect stage

With fashionistas eyes on Paris Fashion Week, it’s the perfect global stage for the landmark creative partnership between Penfolds and Troye. Australian creativity – in fashion, beauty, music, wine and talent – is proving to be our most celebrated export. Now that’s something to raise a glass to.
